We are a profitable, fast-growing business education company running live and virtual events across the UK. Thioe events convert into five figure orders.
The sales function is the engine of the business, from initial enquiry to the sale of a low ticket event through to conversion to high ticket,
This is not a caretaker role. You will inherit a small closing team and be expected to build it, raise its standard, and hold it to a number. You’ll report directly to the business owner and be one of a very small number of people who own a revenue line outright.
What you’ll own
- The revenue number. Monthly ticket volume, show-up rate, close rate and cash collected. You own the forecast and you own the result.
- The team. Recruiting, onboarding, training and developing closers and sales support. Where someone isn’t performing, you diagnose it, coach it, and if it can’t be fixed, you deal with it quickly and properly.
- The reporting. Accurate, timely, unspun numbers — daily sales tracking, weekly pipeline review, and a monthly performance pack that stands up to scrutiny. We do not accept “roughly” or “about”.
- The floor. You’ll be present at events, listening to calls, sitting in on closes, and coaching in the moment. This role is not run from behind a laptop.
- The process. Call scripts, objection handling, follow-up cadence, CRM hygiene, commission structures and incentive design. You’ll own how selling is done here, not just who does it.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience managing a sales team in a high-ticket, one-call or two-call close environment — education, events, coaching, property, financial services or similar.
- A personal track record of closing before you managed. You need to be credible on the phone and on the floor.
- Demonstrable ability to take an underperforming salesperson and make them productive — and equally, to make a fast and fair call when someone isn’t right.
- Genuinely comfortable with recruitment: sourcing, assessing and auditioning candidates rather than waiting for HR or a recruiter to solve it.
- Numerate and forensic with data. Confident in a CRM (GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Salesforce or equivalent) and in a spreadsheet.
- Proactive by default. We want someone who tells us what’s wrong before we ask, brings the solution with the problem, and doesn’t need chasing.
- Available to work occasional weekends around live events.
What we offer
- A strong basic with a bonus structure tied to outcomes you control.
- Direct access to the owner, fast decisions and no corporate layers.
- A business with proven demand, healthy margins and significant headroom for growth.
- Real autonomy to build the sales function the way you believe it should be built.
This will be an exciting challenge for the tight person. If this could be you, let us know
