HGV Class 1 Driver
Frederic Smart is a family run business , we have been trading for 120 years, we are seeing continued growth and need to add to the team to continue on our path.
Duties
- Safely transport materials to designated locations following assigned routes.
- Ensure proper securing and strapping of loads to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and report any maintenance issues.
- Nights out will be required from time to time.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and other required documentation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
Skills
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- 2 years experience ,over 25 and no more than 6 points on licence.
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic laws.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and customers.
This position offers competitive pay and benefits.
The vehicle is not shared.
The salary is for a guaranteed 50 hours per week, overtime is available.
