The Roles
We are looking for a x1 Bar Manager, and x1 Bar Supervisor, to lead the bar team for our music focused cafe and bar space on stokes croft. We are looking for two people with excellent communication and hospitality skills to be our Bar Manager and Bar Supervisor, championing the values of the venue, and running an effective and collaborative bar and cafe team through busy services and music focused events. They will be responsible for the running of the team, plus the back office responsibilities that come with this (rota, ordering, stock management, reporting), whilst also being keyholders and responsible for the duty management of the space when the directors are not present.
- These are both full time roles (circa 37.5 hours p/w)
- Both involve regular weekend work, with most hours completed during service
- The Bar Manager will have an allocated number of back of house hours each week to completed administrative jobs
- These roles have a 3 month probation period

Bar Manager £32,000+
Bar Supervisor £29,000+

Key Responsibilities:
Bar Management
- Managing the on shift team
- Allocating on shift breaks
- Managing stock levels, wastage and shortages
- Ordering new stock when needed and liaising with delivery drivers
- Monthly staff rota - meeting everyone's hours and holiday requests
- Maintaining health and safety, licensing and food hygiene
- Dealing with customer issues and supporting staff
- Supporting the wider day-to-day running of the venue
- Completing end of night reports and reporting back to Directors in weekly meeting
- Cellar and fridge organisation
- Liaising with SIA team on weekends - implementing welfare policy
- Developing cocktail menu with Directors
- Delegating bar staff when something needs to be done on shift
- Maintaining bar presentation and cleanliness throughout service
- Key holder - ensuring the venue is securely locked at the end of the night
Duty Manager
- Key holder - ensuring the venue is securely locked at the end of the night
- End of day report
- Liaising with SIA team on weekends - implementing welfare policy
- Maintaining clean standards in the venue - tables are cleared, allocating toilet rota etc.
- Overseeing safe running of venue - fire protocols, ensuring licensing requirements are met
- Ensuring DJ’s and performers are looked after
- Liaising with food pop-ups and ensuring food is going out smoothly and tables are being cleared
- Ensuring volume levels are being stuck to
Requirements -
- Bar manager / supervisor experience
- Experience managing and motivating a team
- Willingness to work regular evenings and weekends
- Strong knowledge of bar service and hospitality
- Confident working independently and making decisions during service
- Knowledge of health and safety and responsible alcohol service
- Great organisational and communication skills
- Interest in grassroots music
Not essential but desired -
- Coffee / barista experience
- Working in an independent venue
- Event experience
- First Aid Training
- Personal licence holder

- Previous menu development experience
