Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our educational team. The successful candidate will work closely with children with special educational needs, providing tailored support to facilitate their learning and development. Full-time hours required (Monday to Friday, term time only).
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes for children with special educational needs.
- Support children with autism, disabilities, and behavioural challenges in classroom activities and daily routines.
- Provide one-to-one support to pupils requiring additional assistance, including toddlers and young children.
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Foster effective communication with children to promote engagement and understanding.
- Support the organisation of classroom resources and learning materials.
- Monitor and record pupils’ progress, behaviour, and development as directed by teaching staff.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external specialists to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
Requirements
- Experience working with secondary-aged students with physical disabilities
- Experience working within nursery and primary settings, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive education practices
- Ability to support pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learning and development
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Pay: £15.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
