Job Overview
This role involves a mixture of UK-wide deliveries and multi-drop work, with responsibility for ensuring goods are delivered safely, efficiently and on time. Whether you're an experienced driver or have recently gained your Class 1 or Class 2 licence, we'd like to hear from you.
Duties
- Deliver goods safely and on time to customer locations across the UK.
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries in line with planned schedules where required.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant.
- Ensure loads are safe, secure and transported without damage.
- Complete delivery paperwork and vehicle records accurately.
- Maintain regular communication with the transport office throughout the day.
- Plan routes efficiently and adapt to traffic delays, road closures and diversions where necessary.
- Provide a professional and courteous service when working with customers and suppliers.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles where required.
- Keep assigned vehicles clean, tidy and well maintained.
Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (category C) licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of driver hours, road safety regulations and vehicle compliance requirements.
- Ability to operate HGV vehicles safely and professionally in a variety of driving conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to follow delivery schedules, complete paperwork accurately and work with minimal supervision.
- Flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing routes, traffic conditions and customer requirements.
- Good geographical knowledge and strong time management skills.
- Reliable, professional and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and service.
