BAC O'Connor is an award-winning organisation providing specialist support to individuals affected by drug and alcohol addiction. Our services include medically assisted detoxification, residential rehabilitation, recovery housing, social enterprises and community-based therapeutic services.
We are looking to recruit a qualified Psychotherapist to join our dedicated and highly skilled Therapy Team.

Whilst experience within the substance misuse field would be advantageous, it is not essential. We welcome applications from therapists who are committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based interventions and who share our belief that recovery is possible for everyone.
The Role
Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality therapeutic interventions to individuals accessing our services. You will facilitate both one-to-one and group therapy sessions, helping service users develop greater self-awareness, resilience and the skills needed to achieve sustained recovery.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A therapeutic background delivering evidence-based counselling or psychotherapy in both one-to-one and group settings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build productive therapeutic relationships.
- Strong anti-discriminatory practice and the ability to work in a compassionate, non-judgemental manner.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to effectively manage a varied caseload.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
About You
You will:
- Hold a minimum Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Be able to establish and maintain positive relationships with service users, colleagues and external professionals.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Work in a professional, non-judgemental manner with a sound understanding of relevant legislation, confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Be confident making professional decisions whilst recognising when specialist advice or support is required.
- Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
