WFP Fire & Security Limited is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Business Development Associate to help grow our customer base across Essex and the surrounding areas.
You will be successful in building strong relationships with new and prospective customers, identify opportunities for fire alarm, security, CCTV, access control and related life safety system maintenance, and prepare quotations and proposals.
The role suits someone who is confident speaking with businesses, proactive in generating leads, and able to understand customers’ operational and compliance requirements. Experience within the fire and security industry, facilities management, construction, electrical services or a similar B2B environment would be advantageous.
You’ll be given a target and will be remunerated with a commission structure on a per sale basis, as well as when you reach or exceed your targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, approach and develop relationships with potential new commercial customers
- Achieve (or exceed!) targeted sales performance levels
- Generate sales opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting and follow-up activity
- Promote WFP Fire & Security’s maintenance and service capabilities
- Attend site surveys to gather relevant information for quoting and presenting to customers
- Use our service management software and marketing CRM to manage your enquiries and prospects, create your quotations, and log your progress and communications
- Stay up to date with relevant news, trends, technology and standards within the fire and security sectors
- Report on sales and prospecting progression, and your forecast of expected sales
Required Skills:
- Demonstrate a reliable, honest and professional attitude, which is reflective of the WFP ethos and the reason why our customers trust us
- Three years in B2B sales and/or in the fire, security or electrical sector (if sales experience, there must be a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken, as building relationships is what you will live and breathe in this role
- Fantastic listening skills to understand our customers’ needs and help the wider team continue to deliver an exceptional service
- Laser focus on results and target-driven
- Brilliant organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise
- Good time-management skills and comfortable working under pressure to meet deadlines
- Must be self-motivated and have good objection handling skills
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, service management software and/or CRMs
- Excellent personal presentation at all times (as you can be required to meet with a customer without notice)
- A keen interest in the health and safety, fire safety and security sectors
