As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a skilled and reliable Wood Machinist to join our workshop team and support the production of high‑quality timber components for our bespoke window and door projects.
Role Overview
The Wood Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining woodworking machinery to produce accurate, high‑quality components for sash and case windows, doors, and associated joinery. You’ll work closely with our workshop supervisor and joinery team to ensure precision, safety, and consistency across all production.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a range of woodworking machinery including:
- Spindle moulder
- Planer/thicknesser
- Table saw
- Morticer
- Tenoner
- Sanding and finishing equipment
- Produce accurate timber components to specification, ensuring tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists.
- Select and prepare timber, ensuring correct grading and minimal waste.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and safety checks.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
- Work collaboratively with joiners and supervisors to meet production deadlines.
- Follow all company health & safety procedures, including safe machine operation and PPE use.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Wood Machinist in a joinery workshop environment.
- Strong understanding of woodworking machinery, tooling, and safe operating procedures.
- Ability to produce accurate, consistent work with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working with hardwoods and softwoods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and pride in craftsmanship.
- Knowledge of sash and case window components (preferred but not essential).
Pay: £25,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
