Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality support within a care home setting. This role involves assisting residents during overnight hours, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and have a genuine interest in caring for others. Previous experience in home care or familiarity with care plans is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Monitor residents overnight to ensure their safety and comfort
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, repositioning, and medication reminders in accordance with individual care plans
- Respond promptly to residents' needs or emergencies during the night
- Document any incidents or changes in residents’ conditions accurately and thoroughly
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the care home
- Communicate effectively with team members and residents, providing reassurance and support
- Support residents with mobility or activities as required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Follow organisational policies regarding health and safety procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes
- Valid driving licence is preferred but not mandatory; ability to assist with transportation if required
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail when following care plans
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care
- Compassionate nature with a respectful approach towards residents’ privacy and dignity
- Flexibility to work night shifts on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays if needed
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
