``Exeter Diesels / Vans Exeter established in 1996 is a specialist commercial vehicle supplier based on Marsh Barton, Exeter. We are a family owned business and are seeking to find a talented person to run the service department. Hands on mechanical knowledge is essential in this position and would suit a Master Tech who can demonstrate a track record with diagnostic and mechanical solutions looking for a move into a managerial role.
We have not fixed a salary and as we will pay generously for the right candidate.
`Duties```:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the workshop
- Coordinate and schedule work assignments for workshop staff
- Ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
- Perform equipment repairs and maintenance as needed
- Assemble and disassemble machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide solutions
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Train and mentor workshop staff on proper procedures and safety protocols

- A Master Technician looking to move into managerial role
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Experience in equipment repair and maintenance
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
