Join Our Team
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and caring Deputy Nursery Manager to join our friendly team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring early years professional to support the day-to-day running of our nursery while helping to maintain the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will help lead and motivate the team, ensure compliance with EYFS and regulatory requirements, and create a warm, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager with the daily operation of the nursery.
- Lead, inspire, and mentor the staff team to deliver outstanding childcare and education.
- Ensure the nursery operates in line with the EYFS framework, safeguarding requirements, and all relevant policies and procedures.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Monitor the quality of teaching, learning, and children's development.
- Assist with staff supervision, coaching, training, and performance management.
- Help maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Ofsted standards.
- Act as the Nursery Manager in their absence.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- A Level 3 qualification in Early Years (minimum), with Level 5 or above desirable.
- Previous experience in a senior room leader, deputy manager, or management role within an early years setting.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- A passion for providing high-quality care and education.
- A positive, proactive approach and the ability to work well under pressure.
