About the Role
Norton Home Loans is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Lending Underwriter & Packager to join our dedicated team. This role is central to ensuring lending applications are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with company standards. You’ll be responsible for both underwriting and packaging 1st and 2nd charge lending applications, liaising with brokers and customers, and maintaining the highest levels of integrity and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting
- Access and process full underwriting requirements for 1st and 2nd charge lending applications against pre-agreed criteria.
- Ensure all administrative duties are completed accurately and on time.
- Verify application details against system records for accuracy.
- Provide timely updates to brokers within SLA’s and respond to queries via phone, email, and letter.
- Organise and prioritise daily workload in coordination with the Manager, reporting on case progression (Pending, Offers, etc.).
- Handle referrals for new lending from brokerages when required.
Packaging
- Undertake DIPs and package 1st and 2nd charge lending applications prior to submission to underwriting.
- Check system information against applications for accuracy.
- Order valuations and liaise with brokers/customers to resolve queries.
- Balance daily workload effectively to meet company expectations.
- Demonstrate integrity and deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
- Assist with referrals for new lending when required.

- Previous experience in lending underwriting or packaging is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
