Hands-on Engineering Workshop Roles — High-Performance Engine Parts
We are looking for one or two enthusiastic people to join our specialist UK workshop, working on precision components from high-performance engines used in racing motorcycles, watercraft, snowmobiles and other performance applications for customers across the UK, Europe and beyond.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone practical, curious and keen to learn. Experience is welcome, but attitude matters most. If you enjoy working with tools, taking pride in accurate work and learning how things are made, we can help you develop valuable workshop skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.
· You will learn to prepare and restore components using wet bead blasting and careful hand finishing.
· You will strip, inspect and assemble engine-related parts using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment.
· You will gain exposure to TIG welding of aluminium and other specialist repair processes.
· You will learn grinding, finishing and machining techniques used to achieve accurate dimensions and high-quality results.
· You will be trained to set up and operate manual lathes, vertical mills and precision honing machines to close tolerances.
· You will assist with applying wear-resistant coatings to aluminium parts using electroplating processes.
· You will use basic maths for measurements, tolerances and workshop calculations.
· You will help keep the workshop clean, organised and safe, including routine care of tools and equipment.
· You will work with the team to improve processes, solve problems and maintain high standards.
What we are looking for
· A positive attitude and genuine interest in practical engineering, engines, racing, manufacturing or how mechanical parts work.
· Comfort using hand tools and power tools, or the willingness to learn safely and carefully.
· Good attention to detail and pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
· Basic maths ability for measurements, tolerances and calculations.
· A reliable, organised approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
· The ability to follow instructions precisely, especially where quality and safety are important.
Previous experience in precision machining, TIG welding, die grinding, motorcycle or automotive racing, restoration work, fabrication, manufacturing or similar hands-on hobbies would be useful, but it is not essential. Relevant qualifications are welcome, but we are equally interested in people with the right mindset, practical ability and willingness to learn.
