HGV Class 1 Driver Needed
SureStaffing UK Ltd are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for our client based in the West Yorkshire area.
This is an ongoing position offering regular work, excellent earning potential, and long-term opportunities with a reputable transport operation.
Ideal candidate for the HGV Class 1 Driver Role will:
- Hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 Licence (Category C+E)
- Hold a valid Driver CPC qualification
- Possess a valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card
- Have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience
- Have a good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations
- Be reliable, professional, and safety-focused at all times
- Be medically fit to drive HGV vehicles and maintain any required certifications
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
Responsibilities and Duties of an HGV Class 1 Driver:
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles in line with company and legal requirements
- Complete a mixture of store deliveries and trunking work
- Conduct vehicle safety checks before and after each shift
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
- Follow all UK driving laws, tachograph regulations, and Working Time Directive requirements
- Load, secure, and transport goods safely and efficiently
- Report any vehicle defects, incidents, delays, or delivery issues promptly
- Maintain high standards of health and safety while on customer and depot sites
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times
- Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers and site personnel

Enhanced rates apply from your start date until 31st August 2026.
Standard Hourly Rates – Week 1
Days
- £20.00 per hour
- Overtime Rate: £26.92 per hour
Backs
- £20.89 per hour
- Overtime Rate: £27.81 per hour
Nights
- £22.32 per hour
- Overtime Rate: £29.24 per hour
Weekend Premium
- An additional £2.00 per hour is paid for all weekend hours worked across all shift patterns.
After 12 Weeks
Your hourly rate increases by:
- Days: (+£0.35)
- Backs: (+£1.80)
- Nights: (+£2.77)
On both standard rates and overtime rates.
After 27 Weeks
All rates increase by a further £1.00/hr.
Additional Payment
- Green Card Assessment payment of £64.08 following successful completion of 5 shifts.

We offer various rated, depending on shift times. Pay rises after week 12 and week 27.
- · Standard Rates £16.50 (Days), £17.39 (Afters), £18.82 (Nights)
- · Overtime Rates £23.42 (Days OT), £24.31 (Afters), £25.73 (Nights OT)
- · Bank Holiday Rates £33.00 (Days), £34.78 (Afters), £37.64 (Nights)
- · BH Overtime Rates £39.92 (Days), £41.70 (Afters), £44.56 (Nights)
After 12 weeks:
- · Days get an uplift +£0.35.
- · Afters get an uplift +£1.80.
- · Nights get the uplift +£2.77
On both standard rates and overtime rates.
After 27 weeks:
All rates increase by a further £1.00/hr.
