Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including Supported living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. Prior experience in care for learning disabilities & Autism,mental health,, dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice support, or childcare is highly desirable. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with mobility and transfer assistance, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Administer medication following prescribed guidelines and document accordingly
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Manage behaviour effectively and compassionately, especially in cases of dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance quality of life
- Support families and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Drive clients safely to appointments or outings when required
- Follow health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures
Skills
- Experience in Supported living, nursing home environments or home care services
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication administration and behaviour management
- Familiarity with Autism & Learning disabilities,dementia, Alzheimer's or senior care needs
- Strong medication competency skills
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards vulnerable individuals
- Ability to perform and assist with mobility tasks
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients and team members effectively
- Basic first aid certification is advantageous
- Reliable driving skills for transporting clients safely when necessary
- Organisation skills for meal preparation and managing daily routines
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to handle challenging behaviours professionally
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£13.10 per hour
