Dispensing Assistant (Online Pharmacy) – Fixed ShiftsJob Overview
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Dispensing Assistant to support our pharmacists in an online pharmacy setting. You will help with accurate dispensing processes, stock control, and day-to-day dispensary operations to ensure safe and efficient supply of medicines.
This is a shift-based role with fixed hours:
- 05:00–13:00 (fixed) or
- 12:00–20:00 (fixed)
Key Responsibilities
- Support pharmacists with accurate dispensing and assembly of prescriptions (under supervision)
- Prepare and print labels and associated paperwork accurately
- Pick, pack, and prepare medicines for dispatch, including cold-chain items where required
- Complete scanning and checking steps as part of the dispensing workflow
- Maintain accurate dispensary records and follow SOPs
- Support stock management: booking in deliveries, stock rotation, expiry checks, and inventory tasks
- Maintain a clean, organised dispensary environment in line with health & safety and governance standards
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Comfortable working to SOPs and quality processes consistently
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with basic IT tasks (scanning systems, order workflow tools)
Desirable (not essential)
- Previous pharmacy/dispensary experience
- Experience with cold-chain packing and handling wet ice packs safely
- Dispensing Assistant qualification / willingness to work towards one

Pay: £10.85-£13.00 per hour
