West London Children’s Healthcare (WLCH) are pleased to invite applications for a locum, full time (10PA) General Paediatric Consultant based at the West Middlesex Hospital campus.
On 1st April 2022, paediatric and child health services across Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust came together under a single and integrated governance and leadership structure creating WLCH.
We have an ambitious vision to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people across West London through collaboration of clinical teams and by building stronger, equitable common care pathways with close links to research and education colleagues at Imperial College.
WLCH runs paediatric services from four sites, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, West Middlesex, Hammersmith Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital. In addition, we are working in partnership with other acute providers in NWL and with our partners in community, mental health, local borough and voluntary sector services to improve care for all children and young people.
This post is a locum full time, 10PA, post mainly based at West Middlesex Hospital. The paediatric department at the West Middlesex site is a busy local general hospital providing high quality paediatric care for the local population.
The unit comprises general paediatric in-patient ward (Starlight), a dedicated paediatric short stay unit (PSSU), day case unit (Sunshine) and paediatric outpatient facilities. We work closely with our colleagues in the paediatric emergency department, including dedicated PEM consultant team, providing assessment and care for acutely unwell children. We have recently a launched community based, nurse-led hospital at home service and the post-holder will have opportunities for innovation and leadership.
We are looking to recruit a locum general paediatric consultant to join our dynamic and friendly department at West Middlesex University Hospital. We welcome all general paediatric applicants with special interest to complement the team.
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of England's top-performing and safest trusts. We operate two main acute hospital sites—Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital—along with award-winning clinics across North West London.

We continually invest in our facilities, including a £30m expansion of critical care at Chelsea and Westminster and an £80m Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre at West Middlesex.
We are committed to equal opportunities and believe that diversity drives innovation and excellence. As part of our dedication to equity, we actively welcome applications from individuals from the global majority, veterans and underrepresented communities. We value the unique perspectives and experiences that diverse teams bring and are committed to creating an environment where all voices are heard, respected, and empowered to succeed."
