Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks tailored to the dietary needs of children in the nursery
- Follow food safety standards and hygiene protocols rigorously to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Manage food inventory, order supplies, and ensure freshness of ingredients at all times
- Collaborate with nursery staff to accommodate special dietary requirements or allergies
- Serve meals with care, ensuring proper portioning and presentation that encourages positive eating habits
- Maintain accurate records of food preparation, storage, and safety checks
- Assist in creating a welcoming dining atmosphere that promotes social interaction and enjoyment among children
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a childcare or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Previous kitchen or culinary experience in a restaurant or institutional environment is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and caregivers
