The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in helping to provide assurance that our homes are safe and compliant for residents.
As a Landlord Safety Assurance Officer, you will provide expert advice and carry out inspections and checks to make sure our safety systems meet legal standards and reflect best practice. Working closely with contractors, colleagues, and external partners to monitor compliance, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement, helping us deliver safe and secure homes for everyone.
The role can be based at any of our offices in the South (Cardiff), North (Ewloe) or West (Newcastle Emlyn) regions. We offer flexibility in choosing the most suitable base location, while still ensuring strong links with the wider Landlord Safety Team. Regular travel between offices may be required at times, but your main working location can be aligned to the area that works best for you.
What will you be doing?
This role focuses on making sure our homes and services meet landlord health and safety standards. It involves reviewing policies, inspecting properties, and checking reports to confirm compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. You will be involved in identifying risks, supporting investigations, and recommending improvements to keep residents safe.
Expect to work closely with teams across the organisation, offering practical advice and helping improve how safety systems operate. The role also includes reviewing contractor competence, analysing performance data, and responding to safety-related enquiries. Collaborative work with internal and external partners will be part of your day-to-day activity and briefings and training sessions may also be required to be delivered on occasion.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of landlord health and safety legislation, compliance standards, and technical frameworks. Experience in auditing, inspections, and reviewing safety systems is important, along with the ability to analyse data, identify risks, and recommend practical improvements.
You will need to be confident working with contractors and internal teams, providing clear advice and supporting informed decision-making. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. The role also involves supporting incident investigations, reviewing contractor competence, and helping to ensure our homes and services remain safe, compliant, and customer focused.
Candidates should hold a Level 4 qualification in Property Compliance, Health and Safety, or a related discipline, or be willing to work towards achieving this within an agreed timeframe. Also a Level 3 qualification or higher in Fire Safety is desirable and would be an advantage in the role.
