Pay: £12.71 to £15.25 per hour, set by the banding below. Applicants holding further qualifications are paid above this, discussed individually.
Hours: full time, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

The clinic
The Denture & Implant Clinic is the specialist implant and denture centre within Gentle Dental Care Group, a family run group of seven practices founded in 1983 and now serving patients across Croydon, Bromley and Sutton.
Carshalton runs routine care for its registered patients alongside a substantial referral caseload of implant and denture treatment. That balance is what makes the nursing here different. In a single week you may support examination and hygiene sessions, a surgical implant list, CBCT scanning, digital impressions, and prosthetic stages on cases that run over several months.
We are open to both trainee and qualified applicants. Enthusiasm and a genuine appetite to learn carry more weight with us than the length of a CV, because the clinical skills can be taught to the right person.

Progression through the bands is based on qualifications held and experience demonstrated, not on length of service alone. The training that moves you up is funded by the practice. Where a nurse holds further qualifications such as radiography, impression taking or sedation, the hourly rate is agreed individually.
What the role involves
- Chairside support across routine and specialist treatment, including examination, hygiene and restorative sessions
- Surgical assisting for implant placement, from single units through to full arch cases
- Preparing and breaking down a surgical field, instrument knowledge, and handling implant kits
- Taking and processing CBCT scans, and compiling the full records set an implant case requires
- Clinical photography and digital scanning, and the software behind both
- Supporting denture and prosthetic stages from first impression through to fit
- Decontamination, stock control, and the day to day running of a busy surgery
Training and development
- A structured induction delivered in house and externally, so you are brought into surgical work properly rather than dropped into it
- Annual CPD requirements funded by the practice
- Funded post-qualification certificates. Radiography and impression taking are the two that move you up the banding, and we can support the right candidate through a sedation qualification
- Experienced implant nurses and clinicians on site who teach as they work
What we are looking for
- Curiosity, and a willingness to ask why something is being done
- Organised and calm, able to keep a surgery running to time on a long list
- Comfortable with clinical software and willing to learn new systems. We use SFD, though experience with it is not essential
- Clear written and spoken English, and confident with basic maths
- Reliable, flexible, and trustworthy within a small team
- Trainee applicants: enrolled on a recognised dental nursing course, or ready to enrol on one on starting with us
- Qualified applicants: GDC registered with indemnity in place
