Job Title: Litigation Fee Earner

Reports To: Head of Department / Supervising Solicitor
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Litigation Fee Earner to join our busy Litigation Department. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload while providing support across a range of litigation matters, ensuring compliance with court deadlines, delivering excellent client care, and maintaining high standards of file management. This is an excellent opportunity for an established fee earner with experience in Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, and general Litigation.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage a varied caseload of litigation matters, including:
· Personal Injury
· Clinical Negligence
· Landlord and Tenant
· Debt Recovery
· Contested Probate
· General Civil Litigation
· Issue and serve court proceedings using the DCP system.
· Prepare and file court documents in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
· Prepare comprehensive court bundles and lists of documents.
· Manage the department's court diary and monitor key litigation deadlines.
· Ensure compliance with court directions and limitation periods.
· Notify clients and the Court of hearing dates and procedural developments.
· Arrange representation for hearings, including instructing Counsel where appropriate.
· Attend court hearings with and without Counsel as required.
· Take instructions from new and existing clients.
· Conduct initial client meetings and provide ongoing updates throughout the progression of matters.
· Handle telephone and email enquiries professionally and efficiently.
· Deal with new enquiries for the Litigation Department and assess potential new matters.
· Maintain accurate case records using Proclaim case management software.
· Process claims through the MOJ Portal where applicable.
· Ensure all files are managed in accordance with firm procedures, regulatory requirements, and service standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
· Previous experience as a Litigation Fee Earner or equivalent role.
· Experience working within Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, and Litigation.
· Practical experience issuing and serving proceedings (DCP).
· Strong working knowledge of Proclaim case management software.
· Sound understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
· Experience using court filing systems and the MOJ Portal.
· Good understanding of limitation periods and procedural requirements.
· Experience preparing court bundles and disclosure documentation.
· Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing workloads.
· Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict court deadlines.
· High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
