Join a 5th-Generation Family Business Growing Our Electrical & Renewables Team
P Blackhall has been serving customers across Edinburgh since 1913. Today, we're continuing to grow our Electrical & Renewables division and are looking for a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer / Electrician to join our team.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has high standards and is comfortable working across a varied range of domestic and commercial electrical installations.
You'll also have the opportunity to work on our growing portfolio of renewable energy projects, including solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and heat pump installations.
Previous renewables experience would be an advantage, but it isn't essential. For the right electrician, we'll provide the training and support required to develop these skills.
The Role
As part of our Electrical & Renewables team, you will:
- Carry out domestic and commercial electrical installation, maintenance and repair work
- Complete allocated jobs efficiently and to a high standard
- Carry out electrical testing, inspection, fault finding and troubleshooting
- Work on a growing range of solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and renewable installations
- Ensure all work complies with current regulations and P Blackhall's quality standards
- Complete the necessary job documentation and certification
- Communicate professionally with customers and the wider P Blackhall team
- Take responsibility for delivering a high standard of workmanship and customer service
What We're Looking For
- A fully qualified electrician
- Experience across domestic and/or commercial electrical work
- Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations and installation standards
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- A professional attitude and pride in the quality of your work
- Full UK driving licence
Experience with solar PV, battery storage, EV charging or other renewable technologies would be beneficial but is not essential.
