Information Services Division (ISD) is the primary provider of IT services to UCL. We support and enhance learning, teaching, research and administrative processes by providing information- and technology-related services to over 50,000 staff and students of UCL and associated institutions.
Our Lean Portfolio Group facilitates the effective delivery of ISD’s portfolio of change initiatives through the central management and co-ordination of governance processes that align strategy with delivery.
The group is responsible for managing ISD’s lean governance processes, including the processes for funding, resourcing and scheduling, as well as reporting across the portfolio.
The post holder will work across all Lean Portfolio Group functions; responsibilities include:
- Measure and analyse portfolio performance using agreed portfolio metrics, track & disseminate to stakeholders, as required
- Work with Product Delivery Managers to understand delivery data, provide feedback and remove barriers to successful delivery
- Provide daily advice, support and guidance on portfolio governance processes to ISD colleagues, at all management levels
- Work with the wider Lean Portfolio Group to support the Lean Business Case process for ISD’s Change Portfolios
- Work with the wider Lean Portfolio Group to support the delivery of governance and frameworks
- Work with the wider Lean Portfolio Group and ISD Finance to support the financial management processes, including the funding and investments process
- Work with team members to deliver a resource management service for ISD colleagues
- Administer the appointment of new contractors in line with UCL’s Master Vendor agreement
- Communicate with UCL hiring managers, providing data and reports where required
- Manage the Lean Portfolio Group email inbox
- Co-ordinate the end-to-end contract renewal process for existing contractors
- Manage and assure resource utilisation processes and associated resource accounts
The candidate should have experience and appreciation of working in a process driven environment with an ability to explain working practices to colleagues, along with proven experience of following administrative procedures, processes and instructions.
The candidate should hold a working knowledge of project management practices, including knowledge of agile working practices and processes.
The individual should demonstrate a meticulous degree of accuracy and have high computer literacy with advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
