ISS is a leading service provider in the UK Fresh Produce sector. Since 2014, we have grown to operate four sites across Kent, employing over 1,300 colleagues. We are now looking for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain the safety, compliance and operational efficiency of our sites.
About the Role
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities across multiple locations. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, oversee contractors, support improvement projects and ensure our buildings, equipment and services remain safe and operational.
Flexibility is essential, as occasional out-of-hours work may be required to support business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to buildings, facilities and site equipment.
- Conduct inspections to identify maintenance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Diagnose and resolve basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical faults.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors carrying out specialist maintenance work.
- Maintain accurate maintenance schedules, records and documentation.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency requests.
- Support facility improvement projects, upgrades and renovations.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and company procedures.
- Monitor maintenance stock levels and ensure required supplies are available.
- Work closely with operational teams to minimise disruption to production.
- Lead by example by demonstrating our company values in your day-to-day work.

What You'll Bring
- Relevant qualification in carpentry, plumbing, engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a Facilities Maintenance, Building Maintenance or similar role.
- Knowledge of building services including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of health & safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication.
- Physical ability to undertake manual maintenance activities when required.
