1. To provide supervisory support and line management to City Family's community-based Family Support Practitioners.
2. Be the lead facilitator on group-based programmes, parenting education, emotional support, and child development.
3. Provide cover for the triage service (occasionally) and work with the Operations Manager and IAG/Group Team Leader to ensure sufficient cover is in place.
4. Provide 121 support to parents/carers (including in their homes) across a range of City Family services across Southend, Basildon and Castle Point.
5. Work with partners to tackle barriers faced by families and barriers in accessing appropriate services.
6. To be a safeguarding deputy.
7. To line manage up to 3.5 FTE staff.
8. To provide training to staff on operating procedures.
9. To ensure all health and safety, safeguarding and Information Governance protocols are followed by staff, volunteers and self.
10. To provide information and guidance to service users and professionals.
11. To provide cover for other areas of the service.
12. To contribute to monitoring reports and statements of impact.
13. To comply with all organisational policies.
14. To attend supervision, team meetings and training sessions.
Experience
- Sound experience of safeguarding procedures.
- Supervisory experience is essential.
- Proven experience in working with people facing disadvantage or vulnerability.
- Evident awareness of Early Help, Team Around the Child process and Children Social Care processes, particularly across Essex, Southend and/or Thurrock.
- Recent completion of a parenting course programme (for facilitating to parents/carers).
- Domestic abuse awareness certificate.
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in a relevant field, or evidence of recent and continuing professional development in relation to child development and/or family support practice.
- Level 2 Safeguarding (essential) and willingness to work towards level 3.
- Recent training in domestic abuse awareness.
- Formal management or leadership qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
- Current first aid certificate.
Skills and Abilities
- Proven effective communication skills, able to influence and communicate effectively.
- Excellent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Suite, internet and Client Management Systems.
- Ability to work independently, with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Commitment to continued professional development.
- Ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, and strong communication skills to remove any barriers to access.
Additional
- This role includes occasional evenings and Saturday working.
- Extensive travel is expected and the role holder must be a car owner/driver.
Pay: From £30,196.00 per year
