Community Stop Smoking Advisor (Remote)
£13.00–£16.00 per hour (including performance-related bonus)

PharmaStrat is an established provider of NHS and public health stop smoking services.
Due to the expansion of our services, we are looking for an experienced Community Stop Smoking Advisor to join our team.
Important
Previous professional smoking cessation experience is essential.
This role is not suitable for candidates without previous experience delivering stop smoking support.
The successful candidate must also be available to:
- Attend paid training during the final weeks of August
- Work full-time throughout September as part of a structured induction programme
- Commence employment as soon as possible
About the role
Working remotely, you will support patients referred into our community stop smoking service, including referrals from our expanding hospital programmes.
The role involves providing structured behavioural support by telephone, helping patients develop personalised quit plans and supporting them throughout their 12-week quit attempt.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering telephone-based stop smoking consultations
- Providing evidence-based behavioural support
- Advising patients on nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and other stop smoking products in line with service protocols
- Supporting patients throughout their 12-week quit programme
- Maintaining accurate electronic patient records
- Working closely with our hospital and community teams
- Working towards agreed patient engagement and service targets
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has recent professional smoking cessation experience
- Holds (or is working towards) NCSCT Practitioner certification
- Has excellent communication and motivational skills
- Is confident working independently from home
- Has good IT skills and experience maintaining electronic patient records
- Is organised, proactive and compassionate
Applicants with experience working within an NHS, local authority or commissioned stop smoking service are particularly encouraged to apply.
Applicants based in Birmingham or the West Midlands would be an advantage.
Hours
Paid induction and training will take place during the final weeks of August, followed by full-time hours throughout September.
Following the September induction period, we anticipate a regular ongoing caseload as referrals continue to increase across our services.
From October, hours will initially be agreed monthly as the patient caseload builds, with a view to developing into a regular/full-time position.
The role will initially be offered on a zero-hours contract.
