JOB DESCRIPTION
POST: Media Resources Officer
RESPONSIBLE TO: Communications Manager
SALARY SCALE: Scale 1, point 2-3
HOURS OF WORK: 25 hours per week
MAIN DUTIES
REPROGRAPHICS
▪ To deal with all enquiries to the Media Resources office.
▪ To carry out reprographics duties for all school stakeholders, including photocopying, laminating and binding.
▪ To monitor stock levels for the reprographic service, including paper, toner laminating pouches and other consumables in all photocopiers and printers, and carry out regular, basic maintenance including replacing consumables.
▪ To obtain quotes and order media resources supplies including paper, laminating materials, multimedia equipment and any other media resources as requested, ensuring best value for the school.
▪ To report faults with photocopier machines and printers to maintenance engineers, arranging repairs as required, to ensure smooth operation of all equipment.
▪ To prioritise workload and ensure work is completed and distributed to staff on time and by agreed deadlines.
▪ To advise and assist members of staff with the use of reprographics equipment as needed, including printers, photocopiers, binders and laminators.
TECHNICAL
▪ To design and produce materials for school events and clubs, including invitations and certificates, using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and/or InDesign.
▪ To photograph or film school events as required, including events that take place off-site (e.g. Hackney Church, sporting events).
▪ To edit and/or format audio and video files for classroom teachers as required, for submission to exam boards. This includes converting files and preparing CDs and DVDs.
▪ To be responsible for the school’s Assembly Hall AV equipment and ensure that resources are prepared for staff use at agreed times.
▪ To maintain an accurate record of media resources equipment loaned to staff, including cameras and audio recording devices. To ensure that equipment is fully charged and in good working order before issuing to staff.
OTHER
▪ To ensure that a welcoming, professional and tidy work environment is maintained.
▪ To maintain discretion regarding confidential information, e.g. GDPR.
▪ Explore innovative ways to engage with the school community, through media/social media platforms.
▪ Provide valuable input to the school's digital presence and online platforms, aiming to create dynamic and engaging content.
▪ To deputise for other members of support staff in the event of absences. To perform any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post, as directed by line manager.
▪ Embrace the opportunity to bring fresh ideas and creativity to the role, contributing to the continuous improvement of media
▪ To accompany students to hospital if required to do so.
▪ To accompany students on educational visits, especially those that are linked to
media studies.
▪ To act as a scribe for students taking examinations, if required to do so.
Pay: £19,247.14-£19,516.71 per year
