We're looking for a Planner to join our Lune Gorge Project team based in Tebay, Cumbria. This position is being offered on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Location: Tebay, Cumbria – site based 5 days per week
Hours: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract 45 hours per week
Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 per year + private healthcare + £5,900 annual car allowance + benefits

As a Planner at Kier, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects that have a lasting impact on communities. Working as part of an integrated planning team, you'll be responsible for developing robust programmes, monitoring progress, identifying risks, and ensuring the successful execution of complex construction works.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Planner, you'll be working within the integrated planning team, supporting them in delivering major infrastructure projects. Your day to day will include:
- Developing and managing detailed weekly cost loaded project schedules aligned to project objectives and key milestones
- Gathering information from internal teams, contractors, and clients for upcoming works and managing as-built information
- Collaborating with teams, contractors, and clients to drive engagement and secure commitment to delivery plans
- Assessing and communicating the schedule impact of change events, recommending mitigation strategies to avoid delays
- Ensuring full compliance with NEC4 contractual requirements, including managing early warnings and programme submissions
What are we looking for?
This role of Planner is ideal if you:
- Have experience planning major civil engineering, infrastructure or highways projects, ideally within an NEC4 contract environment
- Are confident using Primavera P6 to develop, manage and analyse detailed project programmes
- Understand how construction, design and procurement activities come together to deliver successful projects
- Enjoy building strong relationships with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners, communicating clearly at all levels
- Can identify programme risks, assess the impact of changes and develop practical solutions to keep projects on track
