Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the deli area remains clean, organised, and inviting. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a passion for delivering a positive shopping experience.
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their selections in the deli section
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli products, including slicing meats and cheeses
- Maintain stock levels through merchandising and organising displays effectively
- Upsell products to maximise sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering customer inquiries
- Keep the deli area clean, hygienic, and well-organised in accordance with health standards
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and recording stock levels
- Offer friendly advice on products and promote special offers or new items to customers
Experience
- Previous experience in retail or food service environments is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Organisational skills to manage stock displays and maintain cleanliness efficiently
- Time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
