Groom/Stable Hand - Weekend
We are a private home looking for a kind person, who’s responsibility will be to make sure that horses are happy, healthy and in good condition by looking after their everyday needs.
We have 3 mature horses, full of character but gentle to handle. It is a positive, friendly working environment with excellent conditions and a beautiful view of Rutland Water.
Due to my business life, I require a person for weekend cover, who is completely reliable. Ideally, you would be able to start at 8am/8:30am. I am open to discussion on the length/total hours worked during the weekend, the minimum would be 2 to 4 hours per day.
The successful candidate must be competent in handing horses over 16 hands and have prior experience of horse care.
Due to the location you must have your own method of transport and hold a full UK driving licence.

Your main responsibilities would be:
Turning out and Bringing in
Mucking out
Keeping the yard clean
Grooming
Keeping the rest area, tackroom and feed room tidy.
I would also like this person to cover the occassional evening checks during the week days.
If you are interested in extra hours during the week day, we are also looking for Groundsperson to work alongside our existing gentleman to carry out light duties, for example grass cutting, tidying, etc, more details can be provided upon request.
