We’re looking for an experienced Customer Services Coordinator to join the Operations team of a busy freight forwarding company.
This is not your average customer service role — previous experience in freight forwarding, shipping or logistics is essential. If you know your FCL from your LCL and don’t panic when someone asks, “Where is my container?” — keep reading!
The Role
You’ll be the key point of contact for customers, keeping them updated and making sure shipments get from A to B with as few dramas as possible.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing customer queries and providing shipment updates
- Liaising with Operations, shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents
- Monitoring shipments, ETAs and delivery arrangements
- Coordinating documentation and keeping everything shipshape
- Dealing with delays, amendments and the occasional “urgent” request
- Arranging deliveries and working with transport providers
- Assisting with invoicing, costs and general operational admin
- Building great relationships with customers and suppliers
About You
- Previous freight forwarding/shipping experience is essential
- Good understanding of international freight operations
- Confident dealing with customers and suppliers
- Organised, commercially aware and able to juggle multiple shipments
- Excellent attention to detail
- Calm under pressure — because “the vessel is delayed” is rarely met with a round of applause!
If you’re an experienced freight forwarding professional who enjoys the customer-facing side of operations and can keep your cool when the containers can't, we’d love to hear from you!
