A family-run laundrette based in Stoke Newington, London N16. We are looking for a reliable and careful Part-Time Ironing Assistant to join our team.
This role is suitable for someone looking for a small number of flexible hours each week, with the high potential of additional hours as our ironing service grows. We are hoping that once our service picks up we will be able to offer a full time position.
Main responsibilities:
- Ironing customers’ clothing to a professional standard
- Working safely with a professional steam iron and ironing equipment
- Handling different fabrics carefully to prevent scorching, shine or damage
- Checking garment care labels before ironing
- Ironing shirts, trousers, dresses, bedding and other household items
- Folding, hanging and packaging completed orders neatly
Requirements:
- Professional ironing, laundry, dry-cleaning or hotel-housekeeping experience is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- Able to work independently
- Good understanding of different fabrics and heat settings is desirable
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
