Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Representative to join our organisation.
Core Responsibilities:
- HSE Management: responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and procedures to ensure workplace safety, risk reduction, environmental and energy management systems compliance. To ensure a proactive safety culture across the organisation.
- Compliance and Regulation: Ensuring adherence to local and national HSE legislation, industry and group standards.
- Risk Assessment: Identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Incident Investigation: Leading investigations into incidents, near-misses, and accidents, and implementing corrective actions.
- Training and Culture: Delivering safety training and fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Environmental Management: Managing waste disposal including hazardous substances, and environmental compliance, maintaining ISO 14001 standard.
- Energy Management: Managing energy reduction programmes to reduce energy usage, maintaining ISO 50001 standard.
- Auditing: competent to conduct audits, maintain records, site inspections and investigate incidents, deliver training, and ensure adherence to the requirements of ISO 14001, 45001 and 50001.
- Reporting: KPI,s to management and group using a portal
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Higher vocational qualification, experience or degree, ideally in an Engineering environment.
- Certification: NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH National Diploma, or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven experience in HSE roles, ideally in a mixed Electronic, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, risk assessment expertise, excellent communication skills, ability to influence behaviour and work ‘hands on’.
Requirements:
- Experience with ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 50001 (Energy) standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data reporting tools.
- Ability to act as the primary contact for external ISO Certification Bodies and regulators.
