About Fur Babies Pet Spa
Fur Babies Pet Spa is a luxury dog grooming salon focused on providing exceptional grooming, outstanding customer service and, most importantly, the health, happiness and wellbeing of every pet in our care.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Salon Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the salon, lead our team and ensure that our exceptionally high standards are maintained across every area of the business.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who is passionate about animals, takes genuine pride in their work and has the confidence to lead a team. You will be reporting and working directly alongside the salon owner.
The Role
As Salon Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the salon operates smoothly, professionally and safely every day.
You will lead by example, supporting and motivating the grooming team while ensuring that our standards around animal welfare, pet wellness, cleanliness, customer service and grooming quality are consistently maintained.
You will be the person who makes sure that every pet entering Fur Babies receives the same exceptional level of care — from the moment they arrive until they leave looking and feeling their best.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support the salon team on a daily basis.
- Delivering high-quality and grooms yourself as part of a working manager role.
- Maintain exceptionally high standards of animal welfare, pet care and wellbeing.
- Ensure every dog is treated as an individual and their comfort, safety and emotional wellbeing are prioritised.
- Monitor grooming, bathing, drying and handling standards across the salon.
- Ensure the salon is maintained to an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
- Work alongside front of house to carry out regular checks of equipment, work areas and animal areas.
- Ensure all health & safety, animal welfare and salon procedures are followed.
- Manage the daily salon schedule and ensure the team operates efficiently.
- Support staff with training, development and performance management.
- Lead by example and create a positive, professional and respectful working environment.
- Deal confidently with customer queries, feedback and complaints.
- Monitor the overall customer experience and look for ways to continually improve it.
- Identify areas where standards can be improved and report to owner.
- Help maintain stock levels and ensure products and equipment are used appropriately.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.
- Assist with salon targets, productivity and commercial performance.
- Ensure the salon environment reflects the premium Fur Babies Pet Spa brand.

Skills
- Proven experience as a pet groomer with a strong portfolio of grooming styles and techniques
- Veterinary experience or knowledge of animal health is highly desirable to identify potential issues early
- Deep understanding of animal care principles to ensure safety and well-being during grooming sessions
- Excellent customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and address their needs effectively
- Ability to perform lifting safely when handling larger or heavier animals
- Strong communication skills for explaining procedures and providing pet care advice confidently
- Passion for animals combined with a lively attitude that energizes the team and creates a positive environment
Experience
Essential:
- Relevant dog grooming qualification.
- Experience managing a busy grooming team.
- Previous experience within a dog grooming salon or similar animal-care environment.
- Experience working with dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments.
- Strong understanding of animal welfare and safe handling.
- Previous leadership, supervisory or management experience.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with staff training and development.
- Experience with salon administration, rotas and stock management.
- Experience within a premium/luxury customer service environment.
