Reports to: Favaretti UK Management, working closely with the UK Sales Manager and Favaretti technical team in Italy
About Favaretti:
Favaretti Ltd is the UK arm of Favaretti Group, an established Italian manufacturer with more than 40 years’ experience in tensile structures, pool enclosures and padel courts.
As our UK business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and practical Freelance Site Manager to take responsibility for site readiness and operational delivery across our UK projects.
This is a hands-on role for someone with strong UK construction experience, particularly in groundworks, civils or site management, who is confident making practical site decisions and dealing directly with clients, contractors and installation teams.
The Role:
You will act as Favaretti’s site delivery and operational authority on UK projects.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that each site is properly prepared before Favaretti’s installation teams are mobilised and that any construction-related issues are identified and resolved as early as possible.
You will work between our clients, their groundworkers and contractors, and Favaretti’s installation and technical teams to ensure that foundations, levels, drainage, access and other preparatory works meet Favaretti’s installation requirements.
Where a site is not ready or does not meet the required specification, you will have the authority to recommend postponing or refusing mobilisation until the necessary remedial works have been completed.
Favaretti management will support appropriate site-based decisions made in accordance with the agreed project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
· Carry out pre-installation site inspections and confirm site readiness against Favaretti’s installation specifications.
· Check foundations, concrete bases, dimensions, levels, drainage, access, setting out and other relevant preparatory works.
· Identify defects, discrepancies or incomplete works before installation teams are mobilised.
· Liaise directly with clients, groundworkers, main contractors and technical teams to agree any remedial works required.
· Authorise or refuse mobilisation of Favaretti installation teams where site conditions do not meet the required standard.
· Attend installation works where required and assist in resolving practical construction and site issues.
· Read and interpret construction drawings, foundation details, dimensions, levels and technical information.
· Manage health and safety within Favaretti’s scope of works, including RAMS, method statements and site compliance.
· Coordinate with the Client, Principal Contractor and other CDM 2015 dutyholders where applicable.
· Ensure Favaretti installation teams comply with agreed site procedures and project requirements.
· Produce clear site inspection reports, photographs, progress updates and records of any outstanding works.
· Escalate significant commercial, contractual, structural or design issues to Favaretti management and/or the technical team in Italy.
· Help develop and standardise Favaretti’s UK operational procedures, including site-readiness checklists, tolerances, reporting procedures and installation protocols.
What We Are Looking For
· Strong UK construction experience in groundworks, civils, concrete works, structural installation or site management.
· Previous experience as a Site Manager, Civils Site Manager, Groundworks Site Manager, Site Agent or similar.
· Valid CSCS card.
· SMSTS or SSSTS preferred. Favaretti may fund the appropriate course for the right candidate.
· First Aid certification would be an advantage.
· Good understanding of UK construction-site procedures and health and safety requirements.
· Confidence reading construction drawings, foundation details, setting-out information and levels.
· Practical understanding of foundations, drainage, concrete bases and site preparation.
· Ability to identify construction problems and propose sensible practical solutions.
· Strong communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with contractors, clients and technical teams.
· Ability to make clear day-to-day site decisions and hold a professional position where works do not meet specification.
· Full UK driving licence.
· Own vehicle with appropriate business-use insurance.
· Willingness to travel nationwide and undertake occasional overnight stays.
· Right to work in the UK.
· Own public liability insurance.
Professional indemnity insurance may be required where separately agreed professional or advisory services form part of the scope.
Experience in sports facilities, padel courts, steel structures, canopies, tensile structures or similar installation projects would be advantageous, but is not essential. We are more interested in strong construction judgement, practical experience and the ability to manage site situations effectively.
Why Join Favaretti?
This is a newly created position with genuine responsibility and autonomy.
You will not simply be inheriting an existing set of procedures. You will help Favaretti establish the operational standards, site controls and working practices that will support the continued growth of our UK business.
You will have the backing of an established European manufacturer and direct access to Favaretti’s technical team in Italy, while taking day-to-day responsibility for operational delivery on UK sites.
The objective is to create a strong UK operational structure with a clear separation between commercial activity and technical site delivery, ensuring that every project is prepared, managed and installed to a consistent professional standard.
For the right person, there is potential for the role to develop into a permanent position as Favaretti’s UK project volume grows.
