UK Trade Manager

37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday

We’re looking for a UK Trade Manager to come join us, based at Runcorn. In this role you will lead UK trade purchasing activities, manage supplier relationships, drive commercial performance, and maximise buy-side margin across the UK PI and Grey Trade categories while ensuring competitive, profitable propositions for customers.
The heart of the role
- Lead the UK PI and Grey Trade buying team to deliver commercial objectives and maximise margin.
- Oversee the negotiation and purchasing of UK PI and Grey Trade products supplied through Phoenix UK business units.
- Work closely with Pricing, Commercial Finance and Proposition teams to deliver effective pricing strategies that drive revenue, market share and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate commercial agreements and optimise purchasing terms.
- Use market intelligence and data analysis to support purchasing decisions and identify commercial opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice requirements and company procurement policies.
- Manage, coach and develop direct reports, including performance reviews and ongoing support.
What makes you tick
- Previous purchasing experience within UK PI and Grey Trade, ideally within a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment.
- Proven experience delivering budgeted sales and profit targets.
- Strong supplier management and commercial negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Effective people management skills with the ability to lead a team while working independently when required.
- Understanding of pharmacy reimbursement models and industry pricing agreements such as Drug Tariff, Category M and VPAS/VPAG would be advantageous.
