About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Senior Carer to join our dedicated care team at Fairways. As a Senior Carer, you will lead by example, providing high-quality, person-centered care while supporting and supervising care staff to ensure the highest standards of service are maintained.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of others and has previous experience in a senior care role.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver high-quality, person-centered care in accordance with individual care plans.
· Lead, supervise, and support Care Assistants during each shift.
· Administer medication safely and accurately in line with company policies.
· Complete and maintain accurate care records, daily reports, and incident documentation.
· Monitor the health and wellbeing of service users, reporting any concerns promptly.
· Assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and emotional support.
· Carry out senior responsibilities, including shift leadership and handovers.
· Support new staff through induction, mentoring, and on-the-job guidance.
· Ensure safeguarding procedures, infection control, and health and safety policies are followed at all times.
· Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and management.
· Promote dignity, independence, choice, and respect for all service users.
RequirementsEssential
· Previous experience working as a Senior Carer or experienced Care Assistant.
· NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it).
· Medication administration experience.
· Good leadership and communication skills.
· Strong understanding of safeguarding, person-centered care, and care standards.
· Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays if required.
· Right to work in the UK.
· Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
· Moving and handling training.
· First Aid certification.
· Dementia care experience.
