We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Driver Class 1 This is a Shunting job within a factory
Duties
- Operate HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Class 1 trucks with precision, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement equipment
- Safely load and unload cargo, including specialized flatbed deliveries, ensuring proper securing of goods for transit
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including time sheets
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered during transit
- Valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Class 1 license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed or similar cargo types
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading and securing loads on flatbeds
- Shunting 4 days a week in and around factory with other shunters
