Overview
We are seeking a committed and dynamic Children Residential Support Worker/Team Leader to join our team. This role involves supervising daily residential activities, supporting young people's emotional and behavioural needs, and leading a team of care staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare, excellent communication skills, and experience working with children in a residential setting. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives while developing your leadership skills within a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to children and young people, fostering their emotional well-being and promoting positive behaviour.
- Lead and supervise a team of residential care staff, ensuring high standards of care and professional conduct.
- Develop, implement, and review individual care plans tailored to each young person's needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to care activities, incidents, and progress reports.
- Support young people with daily routines, including education, leisure activities, and life skills development.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and promote a safe environment for all residents.
- Facilitate effective communication between young people, families, social workers, and external agencies.
- Drive continuous improvement within the team through training, supervision, and performance management.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children or young people in a residential or childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding procedures, and care planning processes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Valid driving license is desirable for transporting young people or attending external appointments.
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with young people, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Competency in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Knowledge of childcare legislation and best practices in residential care is highly advantageous.

Pay: £14.50-£15.20 per hour
