Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Food Supervisor to oversee daily food operations within our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary and kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. This role involves supervising food preparation, ensuring food safety standards, and managing a team to maintain high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment. The Food Supervisor will play a pivotal role in maintaining efficient kitchen workflows and fostering a positive team atmosphere.
Duties
- Oversee daily food preparation and cooking activities to ensure quality and consistency.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and service personnel, providing guidance and support.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- Manage food production schedules to meet customer demands efficiently.
- Assist in training new staff members on food preparation techniques and safety procedures.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to prevent shortages.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with management to develop menu items that meet customer expectations and operational capabilities.
- Serve as a point of contact for resolving any operational issues within the food service area.
- Promote teamwork and a positive working environment among staff members.
Requirements
- Proven experience in supervising food service operations within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and culinary techniques.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP).
- Experience in food production, kitchen management, or hospitality roles such as barista or server is desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
