Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Grab Tipper & Haulage Wagon Driver to operate heavy-duty vehicles involved in the transportation of materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely manoeuvring tipper lorries and haulage wagons to various sites, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to safety standards, they will also be expected to assist with groundwork duties on site. This role requires a professional driver with a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and experience in delivery operations within the construction sectors. Responsibilities
- Operate grab tippers and haulage wagons efficiently across designated routes and sites.
- Safely load, unload, and transport materials, ensuring secure handling at all times.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any faults or maintenance needs promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety laws, company policies, and environmental regulations during operations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Assist with site operations as required, including positioning vehicles for loading/unloading activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
- Operating machinery when required
- General site labouring and groundwork duties
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving.
- Delivery driver experience within construction, mining, or related industries is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with operating hiab equipment and understanding of load securing procedures.
- Valid driving licence suitable for heavy goods vehicles (HGV).
- CPC and digital tachograph card
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for heavy vehicle operation.
- Ability to operate grab mechanisms safely and efficiently is preferred but training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Machine operator experience beneficial
- Groundworks experience preferred but not essential
- Good attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
