We are passionate about developing future talent and are looking for a motivated, ambitious apprentice to join our Business Operations team and support the continued growth of the business.
The Opportunity
You will join our Business Operations team and gain exposure to multiple areas of the business, Service Coordination, Operations, Procurement, Customer Service or other business support. The role is designed to provide a broad understanding of how different business functions work together, while developing valuable operational, organisational and communication skills.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will have opportunities to support a variety of teams and projects, helping you identify areas that align with your strengths and interests. As you progress, you will take on increasing responsibility and contribute to the day-to-day running of business operations.
This role is office-based in Birkenhead and offers the opportunity to develop within a fast-paced engineering organisation.
Apprenticeship Programme
Qualification: Level 3 Business Operations Apprenticeship (progression to Level 4)

Duration: 48–60 months (4–5 years)
SURE Solutions will fully support your apprenticeship by covering training costs, providing study time and offering ongoing mentoring throughout the programme.
The apprenticeship begins with a Level 3 Business Operations qualification, providing a strong foundation across multiple business functions. You will then progress onto a Level 4 qualification aligned specifically with business needs and individual development.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the Service Coordination team with scheduling planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Communicating with customers, engineers and suppliers to ensure smooth service delivery
- Assisting with resource planning and operational coordination activities
- Responding to telephone, email and online enquiries in a professional manner
- Maintaining and updating operational systems and records
- Supporting reporting, performance tracking and data analysis
- Assisting with invoice processing and use of accounting systems (Sage)
- Conducting competitor analysis and supporting business improvement activities
- Helping prepare presentations, reports and internal communications
- Supporting sustainability initiatives and operational improvement projects
- Providing general administrative support across the Business Operations team
- Contributing ideas to improve processes and efficiency
- Working collaboratively within the apprentice team, sharing ideas and supporting colleagues
- Supporting cyber security compliance and company accreditation requirements
- Meeting and greeting visitors and providing front-of-house support
- Assisting with ad hoc tasks during busy periods and staff absences
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4–9 (A*–C) or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills
- Analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
Desirable
- Previous work experience (not essential)
· Interest in business operations, administration, customer service, logistics or service delivery
