This is an exciting new post based at the Chamomile Suite, a specialist inpatient psychiatric unit for pregnant women and mothers with infants under the age of 12 months. The unit has 10 beds with 9 beds on the ward and a separate semi-independent flat. The post holder will be based at the Chamomile Suite, supporting the clinical team.
There is an established senior clinical team of Consultant Psychiatrist, Principal Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Parent Infant Psychologist, Ward Manager, Occupational Therapists and Health Visitor.
The postholder will work closely with the senior clinical team and the resident doctors, usually CT3 and ST4 on rotation as allocated.
The job will involve providing day to day care to women and their children whilst on the ward. Duties will include
Admission clerking of women, and reviews as appropriate for those admitted out of hours.
Attendance at the weekly MDT and ward rounds.
Clinical administration ward round and MDT notes, writing of tribunal reports as appropriate and discharge summaries
Liaising with relevant other professionals or teams involved in the care of the family in the community.

This is 0.6wte post based at the Chamomile Suite a specialist mother and baby unit for women from 32 weeks gestation until up to one year post delivery. The unit is an established service with good links to other mother and baby units, particularly the Brockington unit in Stafford. The role will be to support the day-to-day work of the ward, including the MDT meetings and ward reviews, working with the resident doctors to document these meetings.
The postholder will join the established inpatient team supporting with the day-to-day care of those admitted to the ward.
The main responsibilities will be to the ward, though on occasion may need to support the inreach team with professionals’ meetings for potential admissions.
The postholder will support the work of the resident doctors allocated to the post assisting with admissions to the ward, including physical health assessments and the relevant administrative tasks.
The postholder will also have regard to the relevant legal frameworks such as MHA and MCA, and to also be using a ‘think family’ approach considering adult and child safeguarding and with the support of staff acting upon these where necessary.
The post holder will be encouraged to participate in audit and QI projects and to attend training relevant to their role or identified longer term career goals.
