About the Department
The marketing department is responsible for all pro-active creative activity for our songwriters, composers, partners and staff. This includes social media output, PR/Comms, working creatively with the DSPs and digital partners, and sync client email marketing. The department directly services most departments within the UK company, with a particular emphasis on creating work for the sync, A&R and songwriter services teams.
About the Role
This role will be a mix between creative and administrative tasks, working closely with our songwriters and staff on marketing projects, involving everything from content creation, building digital marketing assets, copy writing, playlist creation, managing mailing lists, attending gigs and industry events, and marketing partnerships.
What You’ll Do: (job responsibilities)
- Social media content creation, inc. short-form video content, informed by central SMP marketing calendar
- Maintenance and management of the sync marketing mailing lists
- Updating of the marketing department calendar and key anniversary calendar
- Playlist creation for SMP UK Spotify channel and sync client marketing
- Pitching new releases to DSP and social media channel partners for marketing opportunities
- Maintenance and updating of the sync & marketing roster lists
- Copy-writing for marketing pieces, internal announcements & external releases
- Design, copy-writing and management of internal SMP TV staff screens
- Assist and support the team with ongoing sync and marketing reporting
- Copy-writing for internal announcements, PR drafts and biographies
- Assisting with key SMP marketing events, e.g. writing camps, content days etc.
- Attending gigs and industry events
- Attending marketing and sync meetings with management
- Keeping up with music marketing trends and emerging social media platforms
- Ad-hoc duties where required
Who You Are: (skills/experience/qualifications in order of importance)
Essential requirements
- Self-starter, who works well as part of a team
- Passionate about music and songwriting
- A creative person with an interest in marketing and social media
- A genuine passion for culture and a strong understanding of current and emerging trends
- Social media literate, across variety of channels
- Knowledge of different genres of music
Desirable requirements
- An active understanding of music streaming services
- Copy-writing skills
- Picture and video editing skills, e.g. basic photoshop, canva, mailchimp, capcut, premiere pro etc.
- Good understanding of Office applications, Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint

Entry requirements
Maths and English GCSE's or equivalent Level 2 need to be at Grade C/4 or above.
You need to put a portfolio of examples of content work you have created. Your application will NOT BE CONSIDERED if nothing is put up as an example.
Training to be provided
You will complete the Content Creator Level 3 Apprenticeship with Creative Alliance. Training will include on-the-job and off-the-job learning to build skills in creating content for different audiences/channels, planning and producing content to a brief, brand/tone of voice, accessibility and inclusive communication, measuring performance, and safe/professional digital practice.
Apprentices learn the skills they need on the job with the guidance of a development coach who is an expert from industry. You will finish your apprenticeship with a recognised qualification, valuable industry experience and the opportunity for continued career progression.
Training is a blended learning delivery model: online learning, classroom sessions, work-based training, independent research, workplace projects, one-to-one support and training. Your training will include:

The salary stated is the maximum salary available for this role. The actual salary will be based on the successful candidate’s age and the relevant National Living Wage rate
