Job Title: Front Of House Supervisor
Hours: 35+ hours per week, including weekend work
Location: Meat:Stack, 41-43 Groat Market, Newcastle
Reporting to: General Manager
Rate of pay: from £13.50 PH , DOE + Contribution Share Bonus
Flexibility is needed to suit store requirements and as such some weeks may see excess hours. Weekend working is required. The performance of the supervisor will be monitored via a monthly P and L and a bonus will be paid monthly on a contribution share basis.
As the Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
Operations
·Assisting the GM & management team in day-to-day business management of the Meat:Stack restaurant. Including monitoring of sales, requirements and profitability.
· Ensuring the output is consistently of the highest quality and in line with the Meat:Stack specifications.
· Implementing menu changes and operational changes following consultation with the General Manager.
· Ensuring the security of the site, including external security and company property, including cash.
Staffing
· Assist the GM in recruiting for, building, managing and training an exceptional team of kitchen and front of house staff who are passionate about the product and customer service. Ensuring that Kitchen and FOH staff are working together as a seamless team.
· Assist GM with regular team meetings to update and motivate staff.
· Direct line management of team including a weekly meeting to address concerns and implement any necessary changes or initiatives.
Environment
· Overall cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant premises and facilities.
· Assisting the GM and management team with Health and Safety within the restaurant including recording and monitoring, staff and customer welfare, quality control, stock management, cleaning etc.
· Ensure requirements are met to maintain a 5* rating within the venue.
Customer Service
Ensuring the customer service is consistently of the highest quality and in line with the Meat:Stack expectations.
· Ensuring that all customers are welcomed into the store and the environment and team is friendly and welcoming at all times.
· Respond to customer queries and complaints in every format as required
Reporting and performance
· Weekly meeting to be held with a General Manager to discuss performance, staffing, output, required maintenance.
· Report weekly on stock levels, expenditure and cash discrepancies in line with reporting brief. All receipts to be uploaded to Dext system on a weekly basis and Pleo to be reconciled.
· Weekly invoices delivered to office with any shortages clearly stated.
· Addressing first hand staffing and equipment concerns and issues before escalation to the directors if required.
· Identify opportunities to improve the operation of and experience within the venue.
Promotion and Marketing
· Offering recommendations to the management regarding promotion, marketing or opportunities to build restaurant trade.
· Incorporating marketing campaigns into site operations.
· Monthly ideas meetings with all levels of management.
Personal Skills
ESSENTIAL:
- Excellent communication skills, spoken, written and verbal.
- Supervisor skills and experience, of managing a team, preferably in a quick service restaurant or venue.
- Highly organised and effective in time management
- Leader and motivator
- Upbeat, sociable hospitable and attentive.
- Experience in sales
- A desire to learn and train
- Computer literate including at least a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
- DESIRABLE:
- Licensee/personal license holder
- Health & Safety knowledge and experience
- Food hygiene certification
- Clean UK driving license
