- The Education, Health and Care Coordinator (EHCC) is a pivotal role within a local authority, responsible for managing the statutory Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process for children and young people aged 0–25. This position ensures compliance with SEND legislation and statutory timelines, working collaboratively with families, educational institutions, health professionals, and social care partners. The role is crucial in delivering positive outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Manage a high-volume caseload of EHCP cases.
- Coordinate Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments within statutory timescales.
- Draft, amend, and maintain high-quality, legally compliant EHCPs.
- Complete Annual Reviews and ensure recommendations are implemented in line with statutory requirements.
- Prepare tribunal documentation, evidence bundles, and supporting reports.
- Act as the main point of contact for families, schools, and partner agencies.
- Liaise with education, health, and social care professionals to gather advice and coordinate support.
- Ensure all case records are accurate, up-to-date, and maintained on relevant case management systems.
- Monitor and manage statutory deadlines, including 20-week assessment timescales.
- Attend case discussions, review meetings, and supervision sessions as required.
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
- Relevant qualification in Education, Special Educational Needs, Social Care, Public Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Evidence of continued professional development within SEND or Education services.
- Association of Democratic Services Officers (ADSO) Diploma, or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience gained through a senior role within Democratic Services or a similar governance environment.
- 3-month rolling contract with possible extension
