**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a professional, friendly and reliable Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors and provide administrative support across the organisation.
A permanent contract will be offered following a successful 3 month probation period. Holiday cover may also be required and this will be discussed at interview.
* Immediate start preferred
Our surgery opening hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
* 16 hours per week - working pattern to be discussed
**Duties:**
- Greet and welcome patients promptly and efficiently.
- Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls promptly in a friendly, discreet and professional manner.
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
- Dealing with prescription requests via telephone/online and in person.
- Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail/deliveries/stock.
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning etc
**Requirements:**
- Ability to work within a fast paced environment.
- To understand the importance of patient confidentiality
- Display strong attention to detail
- Fast learner and the ability to pick tasks up promptly is essential
- Excellent phone etiquette skills with the ability to handle multiple lines and process calls promptly.
- Good knowledge of basic clerical procedures
- Familiarity with office machines (e.g. printer, scanner)
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to use initiative and to work well alone and alongside colleagues
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to computerise information accurately
- Strong organisational skills to maintain a tidy reception area
- Previous experience in administrative or related roles is a plus, as is previous experience of working within a medical setting. Knowledge of medical terminology would be an advantage although not essential as training will be provided.
- Experience of Vision and Docman an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
