Reporting To: Senior Groundworker / Operations Manager
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence — Essential

The Role
We're looking for an experienced Groundworker to join the team, initially working alongside our existing groundworker to support a range of civils and construction projects across the region. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work, knows how to graft, and is ready to step up.
For the right candidate, there is a clear pathway to leading your own team in the near future — this isn't just a groundworker job, it's a foot in the door for something bigger.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with and carry out groundworks operations on active construction and civils sites
- Screed installation — preparation, pouring, and finishing to a high standard
- Excavation, trenching, drainage, and concrete works
- Work safely and efficiently alongside the existing groundworker and site teams
- Operate plant and equipment as required (relevant tickets an advantage)
- Drive company vehicles and attend multiple sites as directed
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with site rules and H&S requirements
- Progress towards and take on team leadership responsibilities over time
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven hands-on experience in groundworks (civils, construction, or similar)
- Demonstrable screed installation experience — preparation through to finish
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Ability to read site drawings and work to specification
- Strong work ethic and a collaborative attitude
- Good communication skills — on site and with the wider team
- Commitment to health and safety standards
