Job Overview
We’re on the lookout for confident, friendly and energetic Front of House & Sandwich Makers to join our vibrant team, across three of our brands. Mamma's Pizza, o'Olivieros and Olivetta - all based in the gorgeous Grassmarket.
In this role, depending on which venue; you’ll be the face of our establishment, creating a welcoming atmosphere while preparing delicious sandwiches and light bites. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help ensure every guest has a fantastic experience from the moment they walk in. Duties
- Prepare a variety of sandwiches & cakes following established recipes and standards.
- Greet customers warmly, take their orders accurately, and serve with a friendly attitude.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area, including counters and seating spaces.
- Assist in taking payments, handling cash or digital transactions efficiently.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities.
- Ensure food safety standards are met during preparation and service to keep everything fresh and hygienic.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve guests promptly without sacrificing quality.
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant service is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Strong communication skills to interact clearly with customers and team members.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and portioning ingredients accurately.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations to ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients.
- Kitchen experience or culinary background helps in understanding food prep techniques.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours.
- A proactive attitude with a focus on upselling menu items to boost sales and guest satisfaction.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
