Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Kitchen Cook to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety are maintained at all times. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items as well as ensuring party food is ready for specific times.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining quality and presentation
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Maintain stock levels by monitoring ingredients and notifying management of shortages
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, and knives
- Collaborate with team members to ensure food is ready at pre-agreed times.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, including proper handling of food and cleaning procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and culinary trends
- Previous experience in a restaurant or catering setting is desirable but not essential
